We’re working with several clients who want to make it easier for end users to open the “New Request” view directly — for example, by adding a “Create Request” button in SharePoint or a quick shortcut in Teams.
Currently, https://teams.microsoft.com/l/entity/<AppID>/home opens the main interface as expected, but there’s no route that links directly to the New Request view. According to Microsoft’s Teams deeplink documentation
, this would require defining that view as a subEntity within the app manifest.
Use case:
Clients want to embed a simple “New Request” button in their SharePoint portal that opens the Teams app directly to the form.
Others would like to pin or link the same functionality within Teams itself, to encourage self-service and reduce incoming email tickets.
Suggested solution:
Expose the “New Request” view as a subEntity (for example, newRequest) so it can be targeted via a deeplink such as:
Impact:
This would allow seamless navigation from external portals or shortcuts into the actual request form, streamlining the user experience and supporting adoption of the self-service flow.
