Since the permission system is binary (either you have member access or full admin access) it puts the full effort of the administration of Thread on a small group of trusted administrators.
We would love to be able to create permission groups and then assign specific members to those groups, and specific permissions as well.
Think things like "Inbox Admin" but only for selected teams, allowing different business units to self administer their team members and views or even limited access to certain portions of the admin portal, for example, deployment access to Messenger for the onboarding team, etc.

Only Thread admins can create views from scratch right now—want to open this up for everyone to be able to create views or have different roles.

4/12/23: Customer in current cohort asked for the ability to build out new channels without having to be an Admin. It's implied that the Partner admins do not want to grant the user on the call full Admin permissions but do want to empower the user to edit the inbox.

Essentially, the ability to have control of allowing admin, view, or no access to each of the above sections.

Hi Craig, thanks for your feedback! If you could design a custom role that fits your team’s needs, what specific permissions would it include, and who on your team would use it?
